Observation

It has been determined through interviews that some kids have been slapped on the hands and spanked on the bottom at the daycare. Dispute Description: If I spanked any children in my care other than family I would agree with this intake But because it's children that I popped on the hand or on the bottom were my grandchildren I do not understand what the problem is. am quite aware what the WAC says when it comes to spanking of the children's in my care. I am a 24-hour 7 days a week child care provider so I cannot separate when I am a provider from grandmother when it comes to my grandchildren. When the WAC written I do believe that this was not anyone's intention to interfere or infringe on anyone's right as a parents or a grandparent when it came to their own children in a childcare or in-home childcare setting, Especially when the child care facility is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week When the women from CPS came by I allowed her to see all three of my grandchildren that are in my care twins 2 and a seven-year-old I also offered her the opportunity to speak to my older children in regards to whether or not I'm spanking other people's children in my daycare. Yes I did tell her that I popped my grandchild on the hand or bottom but, I didn't think anything was wrong with that especially when they came here on the weekend. And if they're not in my care during that time I do believe that because I have permission from my son and my daughter-in-law that as long as Aaliyah, Maurice jr. Or Soleiel are in my care and as long as its not in front of the other children whether they hear it or not no one should violate on my rights as a grandmother. I think this matter should be looked at again because I'm not the only one that's feel this way but I am one that's going to tell the truth about what I'm doing. And if a parent felt that I done something wrong they should have said something to me before getting you all in involved. This does not just effects me when CPS is involved it affects my staff and my parents as well. No one wants to be questioned about something that they feel that's within their rights if the state of Washington cannot tell a parent not to spank their child then, I believe also that the state of Washington shouldn't tell me not the spank my own grandchildren. So my question is when I have family members in my chair and because I am a 24-hour daycare that's open 7 days a week not family? I'm only closed 2 days a month and twice a year for vacation. So does this mean that's the only time I am a grandmother? I am a good provider as well as a great grandmother and their children. My son know that I will never do anything to hurt their children nor any of these daycare children. what I don't like is the fact that if if a parent is not satisfied with the way their child is treated and CPS is called then why do I still have to watch that child. if an intake is brought on a provider then the child should be removed from the providers care. I tried submitting this dispute through the portal but I was unable to get in.I called Charlotte and Cassandra for help because my provider Jodi Murphy was on vacation and they suggested I do it this way.
